HUNTINGTON BAY BOAT OF THE YEAR
Deed of Gift
(Presented by North Sails)
The Huntington Bay Boat of the Year Award is in recognition of overall dedication to and performance in sailboat racing in the Huntington Bay area. It will honor boats that display excellence throughout the whole racing season.
The method in which the Boat of the Year will be chosen is as follows: First, boats must qualify for scoring. All open races held in the Huntington Bay area will be worth one point for single day races, two points for a series (multi-race) events. A boat must accumulate 50% plus one, of all possible race qualifying points to be scored. Races above the qualifying number will be throw-out scores. Secondly, all qualifying boats will then be compared to one another using a percentage of perfection within their individual classes using the Cox Sprague System. The boat with the best percentage of perfection will be the winner, at the discretion of the Lloyd Harbor Yacht Club Regatta Committee.
